Corporal Dennis James Lyden was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served with the Horry County Police Department. His badge number was 353. In 2000, Corporal Dennis Lyden was shot and killed in the line of duty near the location of where the new home community of Lyden Village is being developed. Lyden Village is named after Corporal Dennis James Lyden.
Mungo Homes is the builder in Lyden Village. Mungo Homes will be building 53 single family homes in Lyden Village. As of May 2024, 14 single family homes have been developed and sold in Lyden Village with an additional 39 single family homes remaining to be developed. Pricing of these single family homes in Lyden Village is starting in the low $300's. Sales of new homes in Lyden Village began in the middle of 2023. The community has direct access off of Carolina Lakes Boulevard.
Michael J. Mungo started building homes in the Columbia, South Carolina area in 1954, and still today, the Mungo family is involved in the day-to-day operations of the new home building business.
